to my friends (including SW alums) who are also Friends of Colburn Park Pool: those of us at Friends of Colburn Park Pool would like to encourage you to consider nominating a fellow friend of Colburn Park Pool for an honor we feel she would be most deserving. One of the reasons this pool is still going strong in this park and a major reason it has continued to stay open is because of the advocacy of Miss Olivia Crooks. Olivia was one who first helped circulate petitions garnering support for keeping the pool open. She has personally raised funds that have been contributed to help it to stay open and has been an advocate for the pool since its inception. She is a lovely, polite, well-spoken young woman. She is a Southwest High School student. She has been at all of the meetings and has been a very eloquent spokesperson for the pool and its value to the community.
