today students of Ibika campus have shown bravery by going against the artificial capitalist law that is meant to protect the status quo. they have, with a strong power of unity, came together and forged ahead. whenever we sang together, unity was guaranteed. whenever we clapped together, confidence and determination was present. whenever we marched and alternated with our feet as guerrillas, strength was enhanced. when we got into town, the agents of capitalism, the unconscious man of law and order, the ordinary workers laid waiting for an order to temper with the peaceful marchers. the marchers laid determined and arrogant to march on for themselves with or without legalities. the so called law, procedure and process had, for a moment, to listen to the voice of a united people..., a voice of harmless but harmed masses of our people, the working class children. the police had to let reason exceed artificially and eventually students soldiered on in the N2 road, escorted by their initial agent of an enemy..., to the office of the mayor was a memorandum directed to the DHET minister Blade Nzimande. the core issues we raised is that the intervention of DHET is not successful..., and thus that intervention needs further intervention. second we shouted a constitutional right to education. we were demanding that the government has a moral duty and is therefore obliged to make it certain that our right to education is upheld. for a moment we made angry the captain when a crime was reported in Butterworth, so that the captain ordered that we disperse immediately after the petition was handed in. however he came back and gave a fatherly approach later when his anger was calm. students spontaneously dispersed in walking back to the garage to wait for a possible car coming and to home to go. i came back thinking that students have power, a power to change the world..., not just as students...., but also as citizens. i thank the bravery of the students because the day today depended on their strength and ability to devote themselves to the cause of themselves. if you are still at home, you must to school and witness the unity of students of WSU, Ibika campus. tomorrow is another day and let us wait and see where it takes us as a day.
