today was the first time i got hit by a real live troll and im not gonna lie- it hit me hard. i ended up not going to work and sleeping all day. i dont understand these kind of people. theres plenty of fiction out there that i dont like, but i know someone does and i dont feel the need to personally attack the author for writing something that i dont care for. what kind of small, sad person do you need to be to attack someone for daring to put their work out there? i suck, and should write something original? well. as to the first part, i know of many people who would disagree. im no Stephen King or Neil Gaiman, but ive gotta say that i dont feel that i suck. as to the second point: yes, i write fantasy and yes, fantasy themes have been explored again and again in the post-Tolkien age. like most genres, the foundation is already there- its mostly about what you build on it. and i built my own world there, and breathed life into it over the course of many years. its mine- not Tolkiens, not George RR Martins, but mine. what have YOU created, troll?
