took a photo of her mother this morning before dressing her. Now I know this will probably receive a great deal of judgment but I talked to her first before I took the photo. I asked her if I could take a photo of her for me to have. She asked why? I explained that I want to have it for later after youre gone so I hopefully wont forget what I see each morning. In a world that touts youth and physical appearance so much as beauty is missing out on at least what I see. In the sense of this worlds criteria and priority it isnt beauty, quite the opposite because it is basically the leaving. Slow, daily, inch by inch leaving but in reality it is what we all are doing from birth, arriving to later leave. This is yet another stage in that process much like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. I see a form with a tiny waist, she always did have that. I see long slender fingers with almost perfect nails that I always wished I had and I see the scars where breast cancer ravaged her body. It didnt win in robbing her of her beauty. The reason is her beauty is from within. It is in the small tiny lessons she taught me daily as a mother when I was but a toddler till today the lessons I am learning now. Thank you God for your many blessings and I will cherish this memory always.
