trigger warning for conservatives and lovers of correct punctuation, this is gonna sound like a left-wing rant and the punctuation is atrocious: North Carolinians- just stop voting for Republicans. stop. it. They dont care about you. They are lining their pockets and NC citizens are going to pay the price at every. single. level. They are gutting your public schools-- fine, if you can afford private school, but public schools are some of the largest employers in rural NC soooo holla when your local economy continues to tank... They are gutting your public universities and community colleges (once one of the strongest in the nation)... Again, holla when businesses make a mass exodus out of NC because our education system is in the toilet and our students dont have employable skills or any capacity to actually think creatively, critically or solve the problems that these policies are going to create. They want to gamble with your drinking water, nevermind being good stewards of our state (I guess religion just goes out the window when it comes to stewardship, but is super useful when discriminating against anyone who isnt just like you). They want to trash the beauty that actually brings people (read: money, for those of you who claim to only be interested in the fiscal side of politics) to our part of NC... They want to regulate your relationships and your bodies but remove any actual safety net or program that might help all those babies they want born and then blame the mamas, who have been sitting through federally-funded, abstinence-only programming most of their lives, for having poor morals -- (dont even get me started)... They want to make sure that if youre brown, poor or liberal that exercising your right to vote is as difficult as possible... They are effectively shitting all over our state and will walk away with no ethical regrets and cash money from big business. At least try for the center. I promise - aint nobody gonna make you stop praying or take your guns and immigrants arent going to overrun your little corner of the globe. And unless youre Native, your people were immigrants so just go ahead and throw out that entire line of reasoning. I pray (I know some of you are like what?!?!?) AND have a gun AND still believe in a social contract that we should be taking care of each other and the resources weve been gifted. Just block me on FB. Im cool with that.
