umma Buddhist Forum in Thailand OUR LETTER OF SYMPATHY ON PASSING AWAY OF THE ACTING SUPREME PATRIARCH OF THAILAND We were deeply saddened and shocked to hear about the death of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn, acting Supreme Patriarch and abbot of Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan. He passes away on August 10, at the age of 85. We know how difficult this must be for all local and international Buddhist communities in and out of Thailand. He will always remain in our thoughts and prayers for his great services towards the world Buddhist community. Somdej Phra Buddhacharn was chief of the Eastern Region, a member of the Supreme Sangha Council and the abbot of Saket Temple, better known as the Temple of the Golden Mount. He was such a kind, gentle Buddhist monk who helped enormous to the monastic and lay sangha. He would do anything to help someone in need. We pray for him, may He attain the Nibbana, the ultimate goal.
