#vasurge so we are nearly two months into this crisis. It seems to be dropping from headlines (and I reject the idea entirely that there is some conspiracy to get it out of headlines). The Senate passed a bill that will fix nothing, and while the VA is calling Vets in mass numbers, they dont have the capacity to handle that kind of volume. With a scheduling system that is decades old, apparently no one can give a straight answer as to how many Veterans are waiting for care - almost two months in and we cant even define the scope of the problem. This isnt this hard. The President can order a surge TODAY. The President can appoint Ken Fisher VA Secretary today. The Congress could pass legislation authorizing it or calling on the President to do this TODAY. Clearly they are not getting it. So lets put it very directly - VETERANS ARE DYING. We need to knock off this asinine need to try and rewrite history for political gain. I will care about figuring out the past history of this problem the minute we have the backlog cleared - Congress seems to do nothing well other than hold hearings so they can run home and tell people that they asked tough questions - whens the last time any oversight hearing solved a problem? Veterans are dying. And BOTH sides are to blame that we are this far in and have solved nothing. I really dont care about the tea party narritive on this President (sometimes its just flat out conspiratorial and wierd) nor do I care about Democratic sensitivites about labor. #veterans are dropping like flies and our Government is doing NOTHING. #vascandal #va
