vhfs here. As of this posting only 7163 people have signed Jeffrey Hamburgers petition to save the DIA. It is so depressing. Art and art history, art and culture need a much higher profile in North America, and the general public needs to have a better understanding of the significance of art and culture for everyones quality of life, and for the spiritual prosperity of our communities and society at large. It is no secret that I have lots of problems with how the CAA functions of course, but sometimes I think the biggest problem is their inability to identify problems or to find creative ways to solve them. In short it is a lack of vision, not to mention a lack of passion. Sometimes I even wonder if they actually care about art. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Linda Downs, who is literally the CEO of CAA now, does not have a PhD. Usually I am not fussy about qualifications, if someone can do the job, but in this case I think it is important, because the situation is dire. We dont need another CEO, what we need is an experienced, serious, and passionate art historian leading that organisation. Someone like Hamburger for instance. You can see immediately right...what a huge difference it would make... #jussayin Once more please sign and share the petition. change.org/petitions/mr-kevyn-duane-orr-emergency-manager-of-the-city-of-detroit-prevent-sale-of-works-from-the-detroit-institute-of-arts
