via David Seargeant on comet C/2013 V5 (Oukaimeden) on September 21 I managed to observe this comet at low elevation this evening (Sept. 21.39) and estimated it at m = 6.7 (B method) with a nice 20 tail in PA 165 degrees as seen using a 25x100 binocular telescope. Through a Swan Band filter, the coma seemed somewhat enhanced and appeared more sharply condensed. Evidently, the comet is still evolving gas and must therefore still possess an active nucleus. It has not disintegrated yet!Cheers,David Seargent
