via Janice Figueiredo “I’m a practising Catholic but I’m very disappointed with Pope Francis,” said Nelly Mero, a 32-year-old Ecuadorean immigrant who lived a fairly comfortable life until her husband lost his job in a construction firm in Rome and she lost her selling clothes in a market. “I don’t expect the Vatican to come up with a solution, because it is the responsibility of the city council, but he has not intervened or said one word about us,” said Mrs Mero, who has her two children living with her in the church, a girl of five and a little boy of two. Bare-footed small children run down the lofty aisles of the church while their parents kill time in a small, gloomy area just to the left of the basilica’s soaring baroque altar. facebook/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Ftelegraph.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fworldnews%2Feurope%2Fvaticancityandholysee%2F10895660%2FPope-blamed-by-homeless-Romans-for-ignoring-their-plight.html&h=iAQEOztYD
