via: Peter Fitschen Here is a new study comparing fed vs. fasted cardio for weight and fat loss. In this study they had participants perform 1hr cardio 3x/wk for 1 month while eating in a caloric deficit. Half of the participants received a shake prior to training so they were training in the fed state while the other half didnt receive the shake until after the workout so they trained fasted. After 1 month, both groups lost significant amounts of body weight and body fat (determined by Bod Pod); however, there were no differences between groups in any variable measured. These findings suggest that fasted cardio is not superior to fed-state cardio for fat loss contrary to what many mainstream magazines want you to believe. What this means is that you can eat prior to cardio and if you dont have time to eat prior to your cardio, you can eat afterwards and be fine also: jissn/content/11/1/54/abstract
