via Ruth Steck The average age of the population in Gaza is 17 years old. With a total of 1.8 million people, that means there are a quarter of a million children there, trapped in an area 5 miles wide, thirty miles long, bordered by ocean and two countries who wont let them out. In contrast to Israel, who has a spiffy missile defense system that keeps out rocket fire (financed by the US), the Gazan people have nothing--no defense systems, no shelters, no army. This is not a war. I dont have words for what this is. Do you?
