[warning: blog like status update ahead] There is much truth in this article. Has good advice. Except I would argue that you should start making your trade offs, investments and sacrifices starting in your early to mid teens so you can reap the rewards in your twenties. Sadly this only works if you are lucky enough to discover your passion early. I was very #lucky and it worked for me. Its also helpful if your in the centre of a Venn diagram of: (1) you have a skill/interest/hobby that society values at this moment in time and can reasonably easily be turned into a profession (i.e. my entrepreneurial skills would be far less valuable in the mediaeval times) (2) you have a developed skill/interest/hobby that aligns well with your aptitude/personality and you are naturally good or highly motivated to be good at (i.e mine was being endlessly curious about computers and business combined an ENTP personality) (3) your skill/interest/hobby is something you actually WANT to do for a living/ as a job (i.e. Many artists or hobbyists do not want to turn their interest into a profession - another example is professional gaming, even if I was an amazing Starcraft player, I wouldnt want to do it for a living)
