was buying lunch for work at the waterfront center today, while waiting for my food i noticed a lot of "pokemon trainers" at the foodcourt prepping for their games at the pokemon championship 2013 that is happening across the street at the vancouver convention center. you can see kids as young as 8? and teenagers as old as myself (22) all prepping for their upcoming match? but the the best thing i saw is the amount of parents supporting their child for their upcoming match by showing them youtube clips of their opponent? writing down what pokemon to use against what matchup (for the ds game) and other parents helping their child discuss on how to build their deck specifically for the next match up... pretty amazing how parents nowadays are so supportive of their children for something they love, even if it might not grant them lots of money or a good career path... if only i got same amount of support for playing games back then. . . LOL
