we left San Diego back on 7/23/79 onboard the USS Duluth (LPD-6) for Westpac 1979-80. We just left Hawaii about a week ago and are heading for Subic Bay (Philippines). The crew is working hard and looking forward to fun times in Olongapo City. This was one of the best liberty ports back in the day until the Navy base closed down in 1992. Hopefully the Navy will return and have some semblance of a liberty town like Olongapo...
