well, my biopsy came back and I have Barretts Esophagus. UGH....I am really bummed. It is somewhat common however a certain percentage (5% within 5 years) will get cancer of the esophagus. A fatal within one year sort of cancer. I mean, I KNOW it doesnt mean I will DEFINITELY get it, and I know that I may skate by and not ever have it turn into anything, however it is considered a precancer stage. ALL from having heartburn/GERD. So, Absolutely NO caffeine, chocolate, spicy foods, nor any other acid loving foods. I see the Doctor again in two weeks to determine what to do next. If it gets to another stage, they do this freezing with a photosensitive light/medicine.....Hey, we all are gonna get something at some point right? but it just sucks diddly ucks Flanders.
