what is on my mind this morning is how I have retreated from the battle lines of my youth and middle ages. Yes I said ages because I have had several of them and the crisiss that accompany them. We think of middle age as a time when we can see a slowing down and morphing of our body, and sometimes thought process, and begin to sneak a peek over the horizon at a possible end of the road. Not exactly one foot in the grave or even a toe but an awareness none the less that something is coming that is inevitable. I had successfully fought those early middle ages off by reinventing myself and giving my body do overs that made it possible to believe that I could always comeback as it were from the figurative death that my illnesses and firings and other calumnious events seemed to present to me. Victories mask the wars real toll. Victories that we do not identify as pyrrhic in nature but rather victories where we forget like the lizard forgets the tail that was severed and goes about using the new one. It is amazing how winning can heal the mind and the body in the mind of the victor. The mental games that we can play that keep the actual toll of the aging warfare hidden. Wealth helps and physical beauty, as long as we can accept our own redefinitions of it, goes a long way to having an audience that agrees with our reinventions and supports them. I am writing this because I need a victory. I am hoping for just one more victory and...well you sing it Todd https://youtube/watch?v=zVatBy_4GpM
