when i originally heard about the MH 17 Flight yesterday morning, it was sad, but i felt somewhat removed, but angry towards these constant wars, and deaths. The announcement that the president made about the AIDS researchers dying in the MH 17 crash totally changed my outlook and my feelings about this. They were on there way to deliver abstracts and data which might lead to a cure for HIV. I am so grateful my idol Sharon Lewin was not one of these killed in the crash because my mind went directly to thoughts of her when i heard of this group of people being murdered. Mainly because she is the only person in the field that i pay attention to and to whom i look up to one day be like. This is very sad. There are not enough researchers in HIV and today there are even fewer. I cannot understand why this happened.
