when you think your water heater is acting up... it probably is.... if the hot water seems to run out too fast lately, look under the house, it could be running there! or a silly tube called a dip tube on the cold water inlet could be cracked inside the tank or even broken off. Its a $5 fix, so just dont buy a new one... check it first. If your windows start to get steamy out of the blue.... go check your water heater... if it has a split down the side remember your water is hot! Turn off the gas or electricity before messing with it, then turn off the water at the tank. Always assume wires are live even after you turn off a breaker in the box. Drain your water heater before you try to move it and when you put in a new one always install on a catch pan. That should be the law! LOL! Your cutting and gluing pipe anyway, a simple drain line from the pan thru the floor takes two seconds.... Turn water off at the meter before you cut or move any old pipes in case you break one by accident. When your water heater goes out and you need advice... call me.
