while we hold many different stocks, I write about only some that are the most interesting to me: the MLPs, INO (hope for them to make their miracle reality) and LNG; LNG is second stock I hold really long time (IBM is the first, being accumulated for some 20 years). Both are in our taxable account and kind of tax-related challenge to me. Not to Yana; she just says pay the tax and do not worry. The cost basis for both of the is just about the same: $24 for IBM and $21 for LNG. IBM is today $191 (close to 700% up) and LNG $82 (close to 300%) Buy and Hold long term is OK if you select really solid company. IBM shares were accumulated with discount to their price by having IBM to take 15% of my salary to buy the shares; for all those years working there. I think everybody should do this if offered by the employer. The discount is worth it. Together with automatically before tax putting money into IBMs TDSP (something like IRA) we were putting aside 25% of my earnings.
