window dressing and visual merchandising may be one of the oldest trade the world has known, but it is also the creativity and the skill that still creates essential factor that wow your shoppers!! shop display/store presentation is spend time doing research, coming up with the concept, designing with detail, searching for appropriate props/material and put them up all together. While some may view interior designing is the integral part of setting up a shop, visual merchandising define the conceptual design of the shop, it also enhances the outlook of the shop presentation. Visual merchandising IS NOT ONLY about design and fabricating POS or props for the merchandise, IT IS ABOUT giving a concept direction and putting up the variety of merchandise together to give them a story for shoppers to be able to relate to visual merchandising is NOT interior design. It is retail design WITH constant CHANGES of store presentation periodically.. NOBODY likes to walk into the store with the same old presentation all year round! Visual merchandising/retail design is about ALWAYS update the in-store presentation and go into FOLLOW-UP on the shop concept AND its detail. Some can even identify them as retail designing NOT interior design.
