A in Painting | Tehran Art University | Tehran, Iran | 1992 Professional career as graphic designer since | 1989 Founded Reza Abedini Studio | Tehran, Iran | 1993 Founded [ with Paul Hughs ] orien+atiolab | Amsterdam, the Netherlands 2008 Living and work in Lebanon and the Netherlands Member of: AGI | IGDS | BNO Reza got his diploma in visual arts from The School of Fine Arts in Tehran [1985 ] and then continued his studies in painting and fine arts and in 1989 graduated from Art University of Tehran. From 1989 then on he has been working as a designer, teacher and researcher in the field of Typography, Graphic Design and visual arts in general. Among the books that have been published on his works are: Design and Designer [ Reza Abedini ], 2004 Vision of Design [ Reza Abedini ], 2007 He is also the author and the designer of: The Prophet [ Jibran Khalil Jibran ], 1997 The Art of Print, 2000 New Visual Culture of Modern Iran [ with Hans Wolbers ], 2006 Since 1996 he has been teaching in different universities and colleges in Iran and abroad including: Tehran University | Iran Guest lecturer in KABK [ Royal Academy of Arts | The Netherlands ] University of Art | Tehran | Iran Reza Abedini has won dozens of national and international design awards. In 2006 Abedini received the Principal Prince Claus Award in recognition of his personal creativity in the production of special graphic designs, as well as for the personal manner in which he applies and redefines the knowledge and accomplishments of Iran’s artistic heritage. Abedini’s professional focus of attention is Perso /Arabic script and Typography and has had numerous lectures and articles on the subject. One of his recent activities in these fields is launching a research group called Dabireh which has published its first issue of quarterly in summer 2010 with the same title [ Dabireh ] covering subjects of script, language, writing and designing Persian- Arabic types and letters.
