without being rude to the guy, all I can say is that hes supposed to be a professional and bashing Brand New just because his favorite band is probably the Yardbirds, makes Jeff Miers review of Edgefest sound like a 14 year old girl complaining about politics on Tumblr. Brand New put on an amazing show... as they ALWAYS do. Theyre real. They have souls that demand to be pushed to the limits through the use of their instruments, and every show they play is unique to the emotion that has been taking over their bodies since their first Long Island basement show. Where Weezer could have been masked by playing a greatest hits record over the PA system, Brand New connected with the thousands of fans who came solely to be penetrated by Jesse Laceys scream and the grit of raw guitars being amplified by dirty speakers and loud distortion. Brand New isnt just music. Brand New is an experience. The Buffalo News could take advice from the younger generation of online music organizations. Music fans and the readers alike are not sheep who want to be told what to listen. Music reviews are a REVIEW of the event... not a biased opinion of an old man who never evolved with the music of this generation.
