wow... cnn/2013/12/20/health/pain-pillar/ ... huge story in the pain community! I know this doctor, I have personally known him for years. I know that he tries to help pain patients and he provides CME classes to providers on safe prescribing, that I have attended through the years. I see both sides of the story here in this article. But then I think... what about the third side... the people who need and relay on these medications to make life bearable to live, the low income pain patients who cant afford better care than medications.... I see access to care issues being brought up because of this situation. and all that being said... 40+ pills Rxed to one patient a day seems excessive, but I dont know the patient or her whole story... and media often gets stuff wrong... we will have to see how the court case unfolds for final judgement.
