you dont get to choose wether or not you are a role model. If you are in the public eye or a position to be looked at, you are automatically a role model, now wether you will be a positive one or a negative one is your only choice. But you are one. The position of being a role model comes with accountability and thats why people refuse the title. The same reason why people reject God, because accepting that he exists and that he created you and everything around you would be admitting that you are accountable to him.
