Tones 1, 3, and 5 (in any order) build a Major Chord The different order of notes is called a Chord Inversion Due to the different sequences of notes, low to high across the strings, each Chord Inversion sounds a slightly different (Chord) Voice and their location on the fingerboard, raises or lowers the pitch.
