youtube/watch?v=7FItlStGMY4 the tribes explorers found didnt speak the same language which meant they were uncivilized........another reason language means so much to me in my artwork.........they were civilized enough to farm, speak language the various tribes understood between themselves, carve stone, make pottery and baskets, plus they even understood the idea of time in the form of a calendar by tracking the moon phases and watching the way the land changed with the seasons.....there are 13 phases of the moon in a year (the time it takes for our rock to orbit the sun), today we have 12 months but we still have 13 phases or moons........one phase is still there.....by adding or subtracting days to various months we get the hidden 13th month....... a month is 4 weeks=28 days, the moon cycle from new moon to full moon varies from 27-29 days......... reason I ever thought about days of the month and how it affects a calendar year, well automatic pay systems used to pay workers across our world......at Kroger our entire accounting system was taught to me when I became a Booth Cashier huge responsibility, very little pay.....anyway, the system used a 24 hour accounting timeline with 4 weeks of 7 days for a month........that meant our workers who were clocked in for overnight work had to punch out before midnight and then clock back in after 1 AM, why? well that type of accounting system would kick out incomplete things like someone working during those hours so it could run daily reports for the stores sales and operating costs........it had to end hours somewhere and sales somewhere to run the reports corporate needed to determine the value of that store........it also meant if someone didnt punch correctly they didnt get paid and we would have to manually submit a correction........the funny thing was it would show the day where they didnt punch out and it didnt pay them, but it also showed them punching out on a day they never punched in, which was because they had worked over night...........sometimes it was because someone forgot to punch out or in during the day, which is why Kroger said the system could never be corrected since it was meant to catch mistakes not assume someone worked any standard number of hours......... anyway.......random thought........
