If not for the box office failure of Battleship, I would have given up on my dream of becoming a filmmaker. I would have never gone out to Kamview to shoot footage for my autumn project. I just could not bare a Hollywood that was obsessed with making literal toy commercials. Films based on Battleship, Ouija, Monopoly, Candy Land, and Hungry Hungry Hippos. I did not want that. Since Battleship failed, the idea of a film industry dominated by Hasbro has been almost completely abandoned. Hasbro Films only has Ouija, as well as Transformers 4, a possible Transformers 5, a possible G.I. Joe 3, Jem and the Holograms, and a couple My Little Pony movies. Still greedy, but not as much as before Battleship sank. So my dream is alive once more - and bigger than ever. The only board game movie that worked was Clue back in 1985. And that was a dark comedy full of witty characters. Sad to say, I did watch Battleship but only to prove to my former neighbour that it was money down the drain. It had action, but no witty characters.
