They used the Infra Red Astronomical Satellite that orbits the earth, and used the Helium on that satellite to super cool the telescope so that it could see any planet that has temperatures above 20 degrees above absolute zero. It did this ALSO to track the planets trajectory and found the planet to appear to have a temperature at 40 degrees above absolute zero. ALSO mathematicians studied the perturbations of Uranus and Neptune orbits and from this determined that there is a large planet beyond them. They concluded that this is NOT a dwarf star or nearby star as such star would perturb the orbits of ALL the planets of the solar system. They determined that it was not a mere comet as THIS could not perturb the orbits of ANY planet. (The assumption of it possibly being a comet is the fact that once that planet ENTERED the MAGNETIC FIELD of the SUN (A Magnetic field that extends BEYOND PLUTO), such planet started forming a TAIL, and as the tail LENGTHENED, the planet SLOWED DOWN in its trajectory towards the sun, BUT when slowing down, the tail starts orbiting the planet and falling back into that planet, and when this does, the planet speeds up in its descent towards the sun. ALSO PIONEER 10 and PIONEER 11 which gave photos of Jupiter and some of its moons and photos of Saturn and then Uranus, went out further beyond in search of Planet X to possibly orbit that planet or at least spot it. Also, NASA set up the SPT (South Pole Telescope) to observe Planet X from Antarctica. Also one of NASA satellites went to the South Pole of the SUN to determine if there was unusual solar activity and found that there WAS UNUSUAL SOLAR ACTIVITY on the South Pole of the Sun, indicating the possibility of Planet X effect on the sun. Also, some have observed the trajectory of Planet X named Hercolobus, and determined that it is on a highly elliptic orbit and that this orbit speeds up when it gathers its atmospheric tail, but slows down when such tail forms as a gravitational and magnetic field pulling on the main body of the Planet. Also TheSky00View stated that from latitude of Nova Scotia and further south one could spot such RED Planet X with binoculars.
