youtube/watch?v=dysG12QCdTA saw these guys playing at the bridge in maine satdee night. rex was mixing them. someone sent me gay pirates once and ive seen it on rage or something but seeing it live and witnessing the fever of a lot of fans who came from melbourne and adelaide and follow them around when theyre here.. well i could see why. they saved this song for last. the whole set was hella-tight and the songs were amazing. the whole band gave rex a big hug after the gig (theyre fans of rex watts) and have a lot of time for aussie alternative bands. 9.99 and Im a good citizen were my favourites apart from this song and they saved it for last.. the crowd were yelling for it all night. i find the story of the song unusually upsetting. a tragic love story with a bittersweet end...EXCEPTIONALLY well crafted. so naturally ill pinch it to cover it meself ;) well done lads. the day was a double header with an exhibition opening i went to and saw duncan graham and rex chuck some sound around the joint. ... lovely....and free plonk.. double lovely enjoy the tale of the gay pirates.. cosmo jarvis really know how to tell a tale....oh and their use of chords juxtaposed against each other in their songs is something i crave ... reminds me a bit of rockier numbers by XTC.
