One of the important things that I tell students is that when in a performance, the show must go on. Despite wrong notes, instruments falling apart, audience interruptions - whatever! - stay calm and try to find a way to finish your piece. Things do happen! Its not the end of the world. Work with it. Plus, sometimes an accident can be quite funny when you think back about it later.
