youtube/watch?v=uKILk4k3xvk Tonight I would like to pay tribute to a dear friend of mine who passed away from cancer. I went by her house today, and her neighbor told me she had passed away. Her neighbor said, she was a nice lady, and I said yes she was. I wont mention her name out of respect to her family. She was an educator, seeking to become a principal. She was a very kind lady and friend. She would always tell me, Ruby you are going to do good in life, dont give up, hold your head up, finish college, and work hard in your business. Many times she encouraged me even in her discouragement. Her encouraging words opened my eyes to see my worth and possibilities. She told me, if I ever become a principal, I will hire you. And she always wanted to make sure that I would always have a place to stay. Even with the cancer consuming her body, she never gave up on anything. She was a fighter. And by seeing her life, I cant complain. When she became sicker, and couldnt drive herself around anymore, there were times she would ask me to take her out of town. In my heart I really did not want to go so far, because I would have to drive back or from the place alone. But the Lord said, take her. And I obeyed the Spirit. I remember at one time when I saw her alive, she called me and asked me to pick her up from Chapel Hill. I picked her up from Chapel Hill, and as we were on our way back, she was talking to me about different things. One of the things were what the doctor told her at her release, that she would die in the car, on the way home. She was very sick. But she said she wasnt thinking about what he said. But I prayed silently, and asked God to let her reach home, and give her some more days. And we got back safely. I went back to check on her a few days later, and she was doing fine. But the last time I went to see her, no one aswered the door. Now I know why. I am glad that I obeyed God and helped her out in her time of her need, for she was truly looking out for me in my time of need. The video below, I used it because she looked so much like Ms. Mahalia Jackson. Just like Ms. Mahalia, she was strong and said what she had to say...But shes in Gods hands now.......Glory to God!!
