To: The Chief Arbiter Mr. Werner Stubenvoll The Appealing Committee Of the WYCO 2014 – Gyor P R O T E S T About: Breaching the Rules of Team Composition and the Rules of Access for FIDE Licensed Trainers during the Olympiads Dear Sirs, Taking care for the Official Regulations of our mind sport, I am positive enough to share with you the following very important matters: 1) Today, 16.12.2014 – Tuesday, during the 5-th round of the WYCO in Gyor we see that the Moldova Team is playing against Bulgaria team without a girl on any of the 4 boards. We checked the main team list of the Moldova Team if there is included a girl in it at all. A girl is included neither in the Main Team List nor in the Team Lists for any of the rounds. Also moreover: A girl is included neither as a regular player nor as a reserve player ! chess-results/tnr153962.aspx?lan=24&art=8&flag=30&wi=821&snr=20 In this way we apparently face a breach of the cited below FIDE regulation for this competition: “5. Each team shall comprise 4 players and 1 reserve (one of whom must be a girl) and 1 captain (or Manager, Trainer).” - https://fide/fide/handbook.html?id=159&view=article Accordingly, following the tournament regulations for this event and the ideas behind them, Moldova team should be penalized or disqualified for the match in the 5-th round against Bulgaria. And 2 match points should be given to the Bulgarian team. 2) In our second protest we concern 07. Regulations for the Titles of Trainers from the FIDE Handbook – 2014, especially the article “N 4. Licensed Trainers” : 4.1. No trainer will be offered free board & lodging at official FIDE events such as Olympiads, World, European, Continental, Pan-American, and Asian Team Championship, and World and Continental Youth Individual Championships, if he/she does not hold any official FIDE/TRG title (official implementation: 01.07.2014). 4.2. No trainer will be offered access to the official playing hall at official FIDE events such as Olympiads, World, Continental, European, Pan-American, and Asian Team Championship, and World and Continental Youth Individual Championships, if he/she does not hold any official FIDE/TRG title (official implementation: 01.07.2014). As we see from the List of FIDE Licensed Trainers and the List of Team Captains (Trainers) presented at this official FIDE event, the situation with Title Regulations in this Olympiad comes also very far from the declared by FIDE intentions.
