ألقى رئيس الوزراء الياباني "أبي" محاضرة عن الاقتصاد الياباني في لندن. بعد "مؤتمر قمت G8" تحدث "أبي" عن استراتيجية المستقبل إلى العالم. و أكد على العلاقة بين اليابان و بريطانيا من ناحية، و أعلن عن استعادة الاقتصاد و السوق الياباني نفوذه كبير من ناحية أخرى. و وعد "أبي" بأن (النمو الاقتصادي الياباني سيساهم في استعادة الاقتصادية العالمية. لذلك، طلب من المستمعين الاستثمار في اليابان. I think he has a good speech writer who is familiar with history and wit. Mr. Abe introduced an episode about a former PM in the beginning of 20th century and mentioned the relationship with an ancestor of the current British PM Cameron. In addition, he declared that Japan is going to be economically competitive again like a great tennis player in Wimbledon based on the historic fact that tennis was invented in this country. Invest in Japan! nettv.gov-online.go.jp/prg/prg8143.html?c=01&a=1 欧米と比べると日本の政治家の演説は物足りないのではと思っていたが、サミット閉会後にロンドンで行われた安倍総理の演説は格調高い内容だった。歴史に造詣があり機知に富んだ優秀なスタッフがいるのではないかと、勝手に想像している。冒頭で聴衆の関心を引くよう高橋是清元首相とキャメロン現英国首相の祖先との縁を紹介し、テニス発祥の英国を意識して日本経済の回復を「ウィンブルドンで戦える」国にすると宣言するなど、随所に聞き手を飽きさせない工夫が施されているのだ。言語構造や文化の違いから、英語話者のように抑揚と派手な身振り手振りを使うことは日本人にとって必ずしも良い手法ではないかもしれない。その意味では、安倍首相の演説は日本人が参考にする一つの型を提示していると思う。間違いなく勤務先社長の年頭の挨拶よりも、数段聞き甲斐があるはずだ。
