I know things are a bit confusion right now with all the updates that have been going out to doctors. The email that you received last week regarding the 2014 1st quarter living allowance, was stating that while CBIE has not yet received the funds for the outstanding 1st quarter (January to March 2014) living allowances, we are paying students the outstanding MLA owed to them from other funds. In your case, and other doctors on decree 34/2011, you received the January allowance already, so you were only owed the February and March MLA. This is why you received 2 months of living allowance this week. The other update that was sent out this week was regarding doctors who had been terminated due to the new Ministry policy for doctors on 72 month, Specialized decrees. This message was only sent to doctors who were affected by the new policy, so it was not sent to any doctors on Decree 34/2011 or Decree 655/2013, since you were not affected by this new policy. The decree was stating that doctors who had been terminated, were eligible to get MLA through August 2014 (or a maximum of 3 months) while the Ministry reviews the policies. Again, this does not affect doctors on decree 34/2011 or decree 655/2013. The MLA you received has nothing to do with the decree that was received from the Ministry. These are 2 completely different things, and you were only affected by the discrepancy funding. As you can see from the message I sent you last week, regarding the 1st quarter funding, CBIE is continuing to work on getting the additional funds for students in your situation. Once we have additional information, an update will be sent out.
