অবশেষে চট্ৰগ্ৰাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়েৱ ছাত্ৰ হতে যাচ্ছি The government has decided to add govt. colleges under the public universities in administrative divisions and large districts.The rest of the government colleges will be under the National University (NU) as now.This initiative has taken to ease session jam in govt. colleges, to reduce the pressure on National University and increase the quality of education.Sources of Prime Ministers Office and the Ministry of Education informed, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared the governments decision while visiting the Education Ministry 31st August 2014 and ordered the relevant to work on this.The Ministry of Education has started work on this. The Ministry of Education will arrange several meeting on this to take opinions about the different stages.According to the governments decision, Dhaka College, Eden College, Badrunnesa Female College with the other government college in the city will be under Dhaka University (DU). Also the government colleges of Rajshahi district will be under the Rajshahi University (RU). The same rule will be effective for other districts and divisions.However, the government colleges will be running under the National University as now in the district that does not have a public university.Officials of Education Ministry informed, The government colleges were under the public universities in 1992 before the establishment of National University.All the government colleges were transferred periodically under the National University after its establishment. The purpose of establishment of National University was not fulfilled, but now the govt. colleges are attacked by the big session jam.Academics and Emeritus Professor of Dhaka University, Sirajul Islam Chowdhury said about this, The pressure on the National University must be reduced. There is no alternative of the decentralization on the current status of the National University. It will be better if some government colleges will goes under the public universities. As a result, the session jam will be reduced.
