ইসলাম ধর্মে আকিক পাথর ব্যবহারের গুরুত্ব এবং এ সম্পর্কিত হাদিস সমূহ------ (1) A follower once approached the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and complained, Ya Rasool Allah, I went on a journey but was attacked by bandits who looted me and ran away with all my belongings. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) looked at him and replied, Why did you not wear a ring with the AGET (Aqeeq) stone on your hand when you went on the journey; for the AGET (Aqeeq) protects one against all misfortune, calamity and loss. (2) It is reported that Hazrat Ali {AS} once said, Whosoever wears the AGET (Aqeeq) ring on his hand will be blessed with peace and will die in tranquility and in faith as a believer. (3) Imam Jaafar-e-Sadiq {AS} is reported to have once advised his followers and Adherants saying, Wear the AGET (Aqeeq) ring, for the AGET (Aqeeq) is a stone which is mined from a mountain in Yemen which the first amongst stones that accepted and witnessed Allahs Sovereignty, the Prophets Prophethood, and the wisaat (for the right to being the true and only Heir or Vicegerant) of Hazrat Ali {AS}. (4) It has been recorded that a Syed arrested by the police of a tyrant king happened to pass in front of the residence of Imam Jaafar-e-Sadiq {AS}. On 1 seeing this the Imam {AS} said to his companions, One of you please go and give the unfortunate man an AGET (Aqeeq) ring. One of the followers did the Imam {AS},s bidding and gave the Syed an AGET (Aqeeq) ring. Shortly thereafter, the companions saw the Syed pass the house on his way back, free and unharmed. (5) It is reported by Suleman Aamash, one of the close adherants and companions of Imam Jaafar-e-Sadiq {AS} that one day, when in company with the Imam {AS} and his other followers, he was standing in front of the gate of the Paface of the Abbasid Caliph Mansoor, when they saw some soldiers escort out a badly injured man who had been mercilessly flogged. Suleman reportsthat on seeing this, the Imam {AS} addressed me and said, Oh Suleman, please go forward and see which stone is on the ring that the man is wearing. I complied with the Imam {AS}s wish, went and saw the ring, returned to the presence of the Imam {AS}, and reported that the stone on the ring the unfortunate man was wearing was not an AGET (Aqeeq) but some other stone. The Imam {AS} observed, Had he worn the AGET (Aqeeq) ring, he would not have been flogged!
