Most of the people of third world countries are dreaming to travel or dwell in any of those countries. But recession occurs in the heavens of the earth. Citizens of those many heavens are now in the street on a demand of better life and better living. Ten of thousands of Italian marched in the street of Rome on last 22nd June in protest of unemployment and on demand of a better life. The rally was organized by three largest union confederations CGIL, CISL and UIL. Now Italy faces a big unemployment problem followed by economic crisis. Italian unemployment hit 12 percent in last April the highest level on record. Joblessness among the young people is worst. 40 percent young people under age 24 are now jobless in Italy. Providing job to jobless people is the great challenge for the newly elected Enrico Letta’s government. Official name of Italy is Italian Republic, is a unitary parliamentary republic. More than two-third of its territory is surrounded by Mediterranean. Only in north Italy borders with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. The independent states of San Marino and the Vatican City are enclaves within Italy. Since the glorious times of Roman Empire, Rome is the Capital of the Italy and from centuries it has been known as a political and religious centre of the western world. Italy was enjoyed a very high standard of living because of high GDP per capita, it was ranked as world top 10 country in context of quality of life index in 2005. Italy is the third largest gold preserver of the world and a founder member of European Union and also member of G7, G8, G20 and NATO. For its glorious past and glamorous present Italy is one of the heavens in the earth. But now this heaven has been facing a recession. Italy’s economy has contracted in every quarter since 2011 – It’s a longer post war recession. Why streets of Rome sometimes roar with the demands of better living and better life. Greece is a develop country of Europe with capitalist economy. Now also is facing the same problem of recession. Before recession Greece was a dreaming country for many people. Geographically Greece situated on south-east Europe. Greece is also surrounded by sea in 3 sides. It has borders with Albania, Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria to the North and Turkey to the North-east. The Aegean Sea lies on east side, Ionian Sea to the west and Mediterranean to the south. Greece has a one of the longest coastline in the world at 13,676 km in length with vast number of island approximately 1400 of which only 227 are inhabited. According to the 2011 census Greece population is around 11million and Athens is the largest city and capital. The Greek economy classified as advance economy with high-income. Per capita income in terms of nominal GDP is 27875 US$. Greece define as a develop country with high standard of living. But recession started on 2008 that has been continuing till now. Now day’s unemployment followed by recession is one of the major problems of the Greece. Overall unemployment’s figure is climbing high in Greece day by day. Before one year percentage of unemployment was 22.6, that was climb up in 26 percent on the end of last year. According to the Greek Statistic Agency, Greece jobless rate rose to 27.4 percent from 26 percent in the period of first quarter of 2013. One jobseeker in Athens painted a depressing picture of economic situation of Greece. According to him “There is no light at the end of the tunnel. First all wages are being reduced and they will further reduced. Second everything continues to be expensive and third working for nothing.” Almost same picture now exists in France also. Europe’s second biggest economy remained stuck in recession as a result unemployment increasing every day. According to the Frances National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) French unemployment rose 0.3 percent in first quarter of 2013 by which total jobless rate reach in 10.8 percent in the beginning of April. France – officially know as French Republic situated on western part of Europe. With several overseas regions and territories Metropolitan France extended from Mediterranean Sea to English Channel and North Sea and Rhine to Atlantic Ocean. France is one of the largest country of the world with a semi-presidential democratic system. It processes the second largest exclusive economic zone in the world. France has been a major power with strong economic and military influence around the world. France is a develop country processing world fifth largest and Europe’s second largest economy. France is the wealthiest nation in Europe and the fourth wealthiest in the world. French citizens enjoy a high standard of living with high public education level. In 2008 France was the third largest recipient of foreign direct investment among Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. France receives $117.9 billion, which is just below the United States ($316.1 billion) and above United Kingdom ($96.9 billion). In the same year French companies invested $220 billion outside of France, ranking France as a most important outward direct investor in the OECD counties, behind the United States ($311.8 billion). According to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2009 France was the world’s sixth largest exporter and the fourth largest importer of manufactured goods. In spite of all these France cannot solve its economic problem and unable to defeat recession. From 2008 recession started in France and that has been continuing till todays. As a result unemployment is climbing in high day by day. According to french labor ministry number of unemployed people has reached in 3.26 million in last April. The increase is equivalent to 1326 new job seekers per day. The figures are considered as a major challenge for the Socialist President Francois Hollande, who has pledge to curb the unemployment rate from the current level to single-digit figure by December this year. European Commission already told that the Europe’s economy will contract by more than expectation in this year and budget deficit will decline more slowly. Commission’s forecasts showed, four (France, Greece, Italy, Spain) of five largest Eurozone economies will be face recession through 2013, only Germany can hardly escape and manage its growth. Recession brings clouds in the sky of EU. Most of the EU countries economy is badly hit by recession. European statistics agency Eurostat said that in the 17 countries using the euro currency more than 19million men and women were unemployed. All are hoping for the good and trying hard to come out from the recession but all efforts were in failed since recession started from 2008. IMF chief Christine Lagarde said she saw no alternative except maintaining austerity in Europe. Is that means all conventional steps were failed to fight against recession in Europe since 2008? If so, does it now require a new way of reforms or new order of world economy to escape from the recession in the heaven of the world or Europe?
