ประชามติ น. มติของประชาชนส่วนใหญ่ในประเทศที่แสดงออกในเรื่องใด เรื่องหนึ่งหรือที่ใดที่หนึ่ง. (อ. plebiscite); มติของประชาชนที่รัฐ ให้สิทธิออกเสียงลงคะแนนรับรองร่างกฎหมายสําคัญที่ได้ผ่าน สภานิติบัญญัติแล้ว หรือให้ตัดสินในปัญหาสําคัญในการบริหาร ประเทศ. (อ. referendum). A referendum (in some countries synonymous with plebiscite, considered archaic in American English — or a vote on a ballot question) is a direct vote in which an entire electorate is asked to either accept or reject a particular proposal. This may result in the adoption of a new constitution, a constitutional amendment, a law, the recall of an elected official or simply a specific government policy. It is a form of direct democracy.
