– Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred yesterday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m., on East Illinois St.in Hammond. A preliminary investigation revealed that the alleged incident and shooting are domestic related. The alleged suspect, 47 year old Margaret Jackson, was shot in the abdomen by a male victim as the result of her violent attempts to stab him and another subject inside of the E. Illinois St. residence. Jackson is currently in a near by medical facility in critical condition. Additional information will be released as the investigation progresses.
