Revision of Child Rearing Allowance This allowance is to enhance welfare for child as listed below. Child without father or mother as a result of divorce. Child without father or mother as a result of death. Child whose father or mother has a disability. Before the revision, those who are receiving public pension were not eligible to receive child rearing allowance, but after the revision as of last December, if the amount of the public pension is less than the child rearing allowance, they are now able to receive the balance amount. Revised requirements (example cases) as of December, 2014: Grandparents who are rearing a child and receiving a low amount old- age pension. Single- father family where the child is receiving only a low amount survivor’s welfare pension. Single- mother family, where father died after the divorce and the child is receiving only a low amount survivor’s welfare pension. Application: Anyone who is rearing a child without his/ her parent and wants to receive the balance amount needs to apply at the Social Welfare Section of Tokai- mura Village Office. Others: Anyone who wants to confirm whether they’re eligible to receive the allowance, inquire at the Social Welfare Section. The allowance starts from the next month of application. Those who could not receive child rearing allowance because of receiving a public pension but meet revised requirements and apply by the end of March, 2015, will be able to receive the allowance retroactive to the 1st of December, 2014. Subsidy- Program of Intractable Disease Subsidy- program of expense of Intractable Disease has been revised from the 1st of January, 2015. Principal points of revision: 1) Designated intractable disease Expanded from 56 diseases to 110 diseases. 2) Self- pay medical cost Self- pay ratio of the medical cost is lighten up from 30% to 20%. The amount limit of self- pay cost will be changed in accordance with income. 3) Medical institution Subsidy is applicable for medical treatment only at medical institutions designated by the prefectural governor. Stoppage of Bicycle Rental ‘Ecorin’ Tokai- mura has conducted ‘Ecorin’ since 2005 using abandoned bicycles for enhancing ecology through riding bicycles. But the numbers of abandoned bicycles have decreased in recent years and it has become difficult to replace them. Also it has become difficult to ensure safety for Ecorin users, so Tokai- mura is going to end this service on Tuesday 31 March. We would like to thank you for your past participation. A Room for Parents and Children to Support their Childcare Hyakutsuka Daycare Center opens a room for guardians and children to support their childcare, through playing and listening to storytelling. Slow Aerobics Experience Classes A series of six classes will be offered.
