A person with holy affections will possess supernatural, godly inclinations and aversions. A person with natural affections will possess sinful inclinations and aversions. Martin contends that Edwards’s distinction between affections and passions can be found as early as Augustine. ...Edwards was not ...as dependent upon Locke as some have suggested. Chapter six offers conclusions ...that affections should not be equated with emotions. 讓我再想一次。 從 dict.revised.moe.edu.tw/cgi-bin/newDict/dict.sh?idx=dict.idx&cond=%B1%A1%BE%DE&pieceLen=50&fld=1&cat=&imgFont=1 ----------------------------- 情操 各種情感和思想以一觀念為中心所形成的不易改變的心理狀態。如：「愛國情操」。 ######################### 和 Edwards ...conceive of affections ...as strong movements of the will” 來看， 若能說 will 對應「觀念」 便可說 affection 對應「情操」 則似乎 b) 較合理， 但是「情操」在中文都是正面用法 又好像 a) 較合理， 目前的想法是，affections 在 JE 著作裡好像也沒有負面用法（待查） 例如 A person with natural affections will possess sinful inclinations and aversions. 也只是 natural affections，而不是 sinful affections 所以仍傾向選 b) emotion 對應「情感」 affection 對應「情操」 也傾向將RA 譯為 《論宗教情操》 但還需要更多查考 JE 著作。
