Now they can tell you where a bean was sourced from, when it was harvested, when it was roasted, maybe even who roasted it. Those are all indicators that a cafe really cares about the provenance of their coffee.’’ “People are buying better beans to brew good coffee at home instead of going to the supermarket and buying something pre-ground, which was probably what was happening most of the time five years ago. It means when they go out (to a cafe), they’re expecting the same quality experience.’’
