여객선 롤 모델 캐나다 콜롬비아 페리(BC Ferry)! 벤쿠버에서 빅토리아 아일랜드로 가기위해 BC Ferry를 이용했습니다. 우리나라 여객선 탈때와는 다른 빠르고, 편리한 시스템이 있어서 소개할까 합니다. 400여대의 차를 싣는데 불과 10여분만에 완료가 되었습니다. 배의 시설도 어느 호텔 못지 않게 훌륭했습니다. 이런 완벽한 시스템과 하드웨어를 위해 2011년 기준 178백만불(캐나다 정부 27, 브리티시 콜롬비아 주정부 151)의 보조금을 지원하고 있었습니다. 철도를 국가에서 운영하듯 안전한 뱃길을 만들기위해서 삼면이 바다인 우리나라에서도 바다 교통망 현대화에도 국가에서 전폭적인 예산지원을 해야할 때인 것 같습니다. 다시는 위도 여객선, 세월호 사고 같은 안따까운 일이 일어나지 않기를 바랍니다. 1. 차량을 가지고 타는 승객은 사진에서 보는 것 처럼 별도의 레인이 있어 차에서 내리지 않고 발권을 하고 바로 페리로 들어가게 됩니다. 2. 차량의 종류(승용차, 버스.대형트럭등)에 따라 레인이 다르며, 배에서도 다른 층에 적재하게 됩니다. 3. 차량을 배의 뒷쪽으로 적재해서 나올때는 배의 앞쪽으로 내릴 수 있게 되서 목적지에 도착해서 차량들이 신속하게 하선할 수 있게 되어있습니다. As BC Ferries provides an essential link from mainland British Columbia to the various islands on its routes, it is subsidized by the Government of British Columbia ($151 million in the 2011 fiscal year) and the Government of Canada ($27 million in the 2011 fiscal year).The inland ferries operating on British Columbias rivers and lakes are not run by BC Ferries. The responsibility for their provision rests with the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation, which contracts operation to various private sector companies
