➡️➡️ A DETECTIVE has taken to the stand to give evidence against three alleged terrorists who are accused of causing thousands of dinars worth of damage to telecommunications networks. The Bahrainis, one of whom is a project manager at a major telecommunications company, are accused of being part of a group that torched power stations and planted home-made explosives near phone lines - styling itself as the Bahraini Harbingers of Change (Talaeh al Tagheer al Bahraini). The 33-year-old detective told prosecutors that he had received a tip-off about the three defendants, who were apparently targeting communications networks in an attempt to cause havoc. The 40-year-old project manager yesterday denied the charges, telling judges that much more damage would have been done if he had been behind the attacks. Both the alleged mastermind and his 22-year-old co-defendant, who is also in custody, appeared at the High Criminal Court yesterday. A third defendant is being tried in absentia and is still at large. The trial was adjourned until February 24 to summon more prosecution witnesses.
