'The month of ramadan is the month which the Quran was sent down as guidance, clarity and distinction between good and evil for allpeople. So whoever witnessed this month should fast it…' Al-Baqarah 2:185 Today marked the first day of ramadan. Its the month were muslims celebrate the Quran and all of the guidance it came with. Ramadan holds many signs for us to reflect upon, one of them is the act of fasting itself: Fasting over a period of time develops resistance towards worldly temptations. Throughout this month, the heart is trained to over come what the mind is trying to impose on the body. Fasting in this month is therefore a training programme for our hearts. If we train properly and pass, we will have the power to stop ourselves from disobeying Allah the Almighty and direct our strengths and believes towards His remembrance and pleasure. So lets train our hearts this month with excellance. Lets dedicate our days and nightsto worshipping Allah, reading and learning from His divine book and supplicate with sincerity and belief. May Allah give us the full reward of fasting this month and give us the ability to worship Him as He deserves to be worshipped. SubhanAllah
