----pra kai pink--- Dear crush, I miss you. I miss your smile, your jokes, the dorky sound of your laugh. I miss you feeling protective of me, putting your hand on the small of my back. I miss you beside me, nervously wrapping your arm around me for the first time. Oh god how I miss you. We didn’t have much time. We got together at the end of summer, and before I knew it, you had to leave. It hurt me a lot when you left for university, but I had to realize that there was nothing I could do. Still, the memories we had are the best times from my summer. Maybe that’s why they repeat endlessly in my head. This is hard for me. At university, there are so many things that can distract you. I don’t blame you if I seldom cross your mind. But at a high school in your old small town, it’s hard to forget. I walk down the halls and I see your grad photo; I hear the announcements and remember that you used to do them. It’s so hard to move on. But possibly the most painful task is knowing that it didn’t take you very long. Who wants to remember that girl from your small town when you have better things to worry about? I understand if you forget me. It kills me, but I understand. We have next summer. I’ll see you again, and we can continue where we started, but probably that thought is what’s bringing me down. Knowing that I can be with you one day isn’t making me move faster. I can’t even look at another boy without remembering you. You’re on my mind constantly, and you don’t even know. But next summer, thing’s will be different. I’ll look older, I’ll be smarter, more mature, and less awkward. Next summer I will become the girl that you cannot resist, and we will switch our positions. Soon it will be you who can’t stop thinking about me.
