- Next we have a row of gravestones that mark the tragedy of the bombing of Severalls Hospital in 1942, by German aircraft. There are over 20 gravestones, although the inscriptions are not now easy to read. They mark the loss of women who lived at the hospital, most of the women with mental disability. The second photograph is a close-up of one of the stones, dedicated to Rosina Wade, aged 76, an air raid casualty from August 1942.
