-I recently started the senior year of my undergraduate career, finishing my senior thesis last year. As I prepare for applying to graduate programs I keep going back to thoughts about my high school experience. I can not begin to describe how thankful I am for the teachers at Bryant High School that encouraged me to love learning. Ms. Andress Whaley who taught me how to openly speak in front of my piers, something Ive utilized at multiple conferences while presenting collegiate papers and research. Mrs. Rachel Batson Arrington for helping me boost my confidence when presenting myself, and allowing a socially awkward high school student to build on hidden charisma. Mrs. Watson for giving me an interest in brain physiology, and giving me tips that I still use in senior level college courses. Mr. Rogers for opening up the world of psychology to me, essentially changing my entire life course. Mrs. Nancy Sadler Hunt, for encouraging me to tell my stories. Lastly, Mr. Allen Scott, for teaching me how awesome science is. Not a day goes by that I dont look at the things around me and contemplate how they work. A lot of the time I have no idea how things work, but one of the most important things he taught me was that not only is it ok to ask questions to those who have the answers, but it is an essential part of the higher learning process. I do not plan on following the path to become a teacher (I am actually pursuing a career working in Juvenile Detention Centers), but I am so thankful that these wonderful people, along side many others (Mrs. Prince, Mr. Cole, Ms. McManus, Mrs. Westbrook, etc.) took/take an interest in helping students unlock their potential.
