-Iwate A to Z Month- Maesawa Beef Everyones heard of Kobe Beef, and some of you out there might be familiar with wagyu which basically just means Japanese beef. These products are famous abroad for being just about the richest cuts of beef you can imagine - and we in Iwate have our own Maesawa brand wagyu. Maesawa beef is marbled and juicy, and when cooked on the grill or hot pot, is so tender that it melts in your mouth. The meat is consistantly ranked 4 or 5 on the Japanese beef scale, meaning its some of the best cuts of beef you can buy in all of Japan. You can find Maesawa beef for sale throughout Iwate and select restaurants in Japan. Maesawa beef is also exported to Asia, as well fancy hotels in New York City and Las Vegas.
